The need to dispose of old mattresses

People have a natural attachment to the things that they have, from personal items to old memorabilia. It's only natural for people to have a sort of longing and a sense of comfort that they get from these things. It's sometimes funny when we see people becoming too attached to the things that they have. This is a story of how this kind of attachment made me realize how it was like to let go of an old mattress.

Everything on earth finds its natural means to say farewell to its environment. People die, plants wither, metals rust and other things just turn old and damaged. Now I have an old mattress that has been with me since I was in high school. I've been using it for as long as I can remember. With shared al lot together, from several firsts to several girls to several lasts. It has been with me for as long as I can remember.

Lately, I've been noticing that the springiness of the spring has been lessening and lessening. I guess it is because of how long I've been using it. I am fully aware that a mattress only has a life span that's the same as a pet rabbit which is about ten years. Now I'm not really a sentimental kind of guy but when I was looking around for a new mattress I was surprised that I came home empty handed. I guess I was having second thoughts about buying a new one. I was telling myself that the one I have now would still suffice. So I got around convincing myself that I am still keeping this old mattress that I have. But after a couple of days I was taken by surprise that one of the springs just popped out and hit the floor. Now it was really time to get rid of this old one.

So, I found myself again in the same store looking for a mattress that I could use to replace my old one and I found a light blue colored one that has the latest in spring technology. But again I found myself having a hard time throwing away the old one that I have. My dilemma was that I have an old mattress I could throw away and a new mattress that needs to be set in place. The solution that I found was the best one to ease my mind. I found myself donating my old mattress to community center in my neighborhood so they could put it to good use in helping out the homeless.
